The Summer Reading Program for kids and young adults is now underway at the library. Read books to win free swim and mini-golf passes, plus fun prizes!
The Summer Reading Program is for readers and nonreaders from birth through age seventeen. Participants may read or listen to books at home. The last day to turn in books for credit is Saturday, July 26th.
Summer story times for all ages are held five times each week. On Thursdays, the library hosts a program for kids ages seven to eleven. Programs for teens in sixth through twelfth grades are scheduled for Monday mornings in June at 10:00 a.m. Teens are invited to participate in both the Fizz Boom Read and Spark a Reaction readingprograms!
Fizz Boom Read will conclude with a wrap party on Thursday, July 31st at 6:00 p.m. at Lincoln Center (710 W. 9th Street, Lincoln Park). Doors open at 5:45 p.m.It’s going to be another great summer at the library!
For young adults in sixth through twelfth grades, the Pittsburg Public Library is hosting the Spark a Reaction Summer Reading Program.
Participants may check out and read any combination of five books, magazines, or audio books. Everyone who completes one reading log will receive a free book.
All reading logs will be entered into a drawing for one of two $100 Wal-Mart gift cards. The grand prize drawing will be held at the end of July.
That’s not all...Young adults can also join the Fizz Boom Read Program to earn free mini-golf and swim passes. Stop by the youth services or young adult departments to get started.
Teens in sixth through twelfth grades are invited to join us on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for fun programs that include art, science, construction and more! All library programs are free and no sign up is necessary.Spark a Reaction this summer at Pittsburg Public Library!
