Discussion Groups at Pittsburg Public Library

Monthly Adult Book Discussion

The library’s adult book discussion will be held Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30 p.m. This month’s selection is Minding Frankie by Maeve Binchy. Copies of the book are available for purchase or check out at the library. 

The library hosts a book discussion on the third Tuesday of each month. New participants are always welcome! 

Talking Heads Discussion Group

Friday Mornings at 9:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.

The Talking Heads discussion group will continue to meet on Friday mornings in March.


Using the Great Courses Series from the Teaching Company, participants watch a 30-minute DVD lecture and then open the floor for discussion. 

The 9:00 a.m. session topic is Great Ideas of Psychology. The 10:00 a.m. topic is Great Philosophical Debates: Free Will and Determinism. 

Participants may attend one or both sessions. Discussion topics change regularly. Visit the PPL’s website for information about upcoming discussion topics. 

Dear Reader Online Book Clubs

Join our Email Book Clubs. Every day, Monday through Friday, you will receive in your email a five-minute selection from a chapter of a book. By the end of the week, you'll have read 2-3 chapters. Every Monday we start new books. Click here to sign up and start reading.
