Discussion Groups


October Book Discussion

The library’s adult book discussion will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 6:30pm. This month’s book is The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg. Belinda Brumfield will lead the discussion. Everyone is welcome as we begin our 21st year of reading and talking.



Talking Heads Discussion Group

Friday Mornings at 9:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.

 
The Talking Heads Discussion Group will continue on Friday’s in October. Participants may attend one or both sessions at 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. Using The Great Courses Series from The Teaching Company, participants watch a 30-minute DVD lecture and then open the floor for discussion.
 
The 9:00 a.m. session will finish up Great Ideas of Philosophy on the 17th. Starting October 24th, the group will discuss selected lectures from The History of World Literature. The 10:00 a.m. topic is American Ideals: Founding a Republic of Virtue. New participants are always welcome.

Join our Email Book Clubs. Every day, Monday through Friday, you will receive in your email a five-minute selection from a chapter of a book. By the end of the week, you'll have read 2-3 chapters.
